Established in 1995 Bumpstead Antiques and Interiors deal primarily with fine quality Antique Furniture, Art, Collectables, Lighting, Jewellery and objets d’vertu from the 17th century onwards. We cover all aspects of such, not only in relation to initially sourcing and buying fine Antiques etc and dealing with their subsequent sale but also in respect of carrying out sympathetic Restoration, Repair, Re-polishing and Re-upholstery (where appropriate) before sale – comprehensive Services that we also offer to our Clients and others wishing to take advantage of the same. We also provide Valuations and Advice for Individuals, Companys and other institutions requiring such in relation to Antiques.

Having the benefit of professional Upholstery services adjacent to our Steeple Bumpstead showrooms and 1000’s of fabrics to choose from we can have these professionally re-upholstered “in-house” to ours and our Clients specific instructions and requirements.

Bumpstead Antiques & Interiors have now taken over Finchingfield Antiques Centre in the picturesque and historic village of Finchingfield some 7 miles south of Steeple Bumpstead whilst the previous owners sample retirement in their retreat in France. Finchingfield has been described as one of the prettiest villages in England and certainly is so far as Essex and surrounding regions are concerned. It is also one of the most photographed!
Finchingfield Antiques Centre is itself ideally located in a 17th Century period Property in the heart of the village overlooking the village Green and duck Pond! Visitors to Finchingfield Antiques Centre will be able to find an eclectic display of fine quality Antique furniture, Antique Clocks, Lighting, Collectables, Art work Jewellery and related items as well as a variety of other items and unusual gift ideas. They also have a specialised and well established “in-house” clock and watch repair workshop within the Centre which is headed up by a Fellow of the Horological Society.
Bumpstead Antiques & Interiors are also in the throes of taking over the Ownership and management of the former renowned “Melford Antiques Warehouse” set in the heart of the historic former wool and market town of Long Melford, Suffolk.
Housed in a 16000 sq ft, Grade II former Maltings/Grananry Building this former Bonded warehouse and more latterly Antiques Centre has recently undergone a full refurbishment and now forms the “Long Melford Antiques, Interiors & Lifestyle Centre” which, over its four extensive floors, displays fine quality Antique Furniture, Artwork, Clocks and an eclectic selection of quality glass, porcelain and other Collectables from the 17th to the early part of the 20thCentury (primarily on the ground floor) as well as later reproduction and period, home decorative furniture and furnishings including art deco, vintage and retro furniture, contemporary art work, vintage fashion, lighting, jewellery etc. on the upper floors. In addition the Centre incorporates tea rooms /cafe facilities (again on the ground floor for easy access and use) and consequently is again a real destination for visitors, discerning trade and private buyers , and the many tourists and holiday makers visiting and enjoying all the other delights this historic part of England has to offer, often referred to as “Lovejoy country” after the well known antiques “rogue and rascal “ from the renowned TV series of the same name.
