No wonder they are looking pleased (see above) as we have recently acquired (privately) a new stock of some fine 16th, 17th & early 18th Century period Oak furniture and other pieces, including several fine Eccliastical carvings, serving and side tables, chests of drawers, bible boxes, coffers, chairs etc together with a selection of period Pewter ware, period brass & metal candlesticks and numerous unusual objets d’art and table/cabinet decorations, many having a religious form and/or connection.
The season is truly underway with our Great Antiques Trail, with more confirmed and arranged bookings this year than ever before. The latest person to embark on such, a “Mrs C”, was kindly treated to her trip as a special birthday gift by her Daughter and Son in Law and following her day and trip just recently had, has just sent us a card through saying “Thankyou for a really wonderful day…, I enjoyed every minute. We are delighted with my purchases and they have all found a special place in our home…..”. Mrs C ., it was our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it!!

Bumpstead Antiques’ “Great Antiques Trail” is proving popular with this year being a bumper year for those booking and embarking on the same and in the course of such, in addition to learning much about Antiques and the antiques trade per se, those particpating achieving substantial savings on their purchases and finds as a result of the advice given and the careful and professional negotiations entered into with the individual Dealers and Antiques Centres and outlets visited.
We are pleased to announce that our new showrooms at Finchingfield Antiques Centre, Finchingfield, Essex CM7 4JX is now open and stocked with some of the finest Antique Furniture, Lighting, Collectables and objets d’vertu available in the Essex, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire regions.
Cavendish Antiques & Tea Rooms – the sister shop of Bumpstead Antiques & Interiors has been sold and in its present form will close at the end of this Month (April).
In addition to Bumpstad Antiques & Interiors main trade and retail showrooms and administrative centre on the Blois Meadow Business Centre, Blois Road, Steeple Bumpstead and our sister shop – Cavendish Antiques & Tea Rooms, in the heart of the beautiful Suffolk village of Cavendish, we have recently opened new showrooms at Finchingfield Antiques Centre displaying a varied and eclectic selection of quality Antique Furniture, Art Work, Lighting, Collectables and other items. Situated some 7 miles south of Steeple Bumpstead this well established Centre is set in the heart of the picturesque village of Finchingfield, Essex overlooking the village Green and Pond.
After another year of excellent Summer Trading at Cavendish Antiques & Tea Rooms, our Autumn schedule now kicks in (from the 1st October) when we open on Friday & Saturdays 11am – 5pm, Mondays from 2.30pm – 5pm daily AND on the First Sunday of each month when we also offer free “in house” valuations & Consultations with a request that you make a donation to the British Royal Legion for each valuation or series of valuations. Their Official Collection boxes are provided for this purpose.
Cavendish Antiques & Tea Rooms commence their regular Sunday openings from Easter for the Summer season meaning that we shall normally be open for business on Sundays from 11am – 5 pm as well as Fridays & Saturdays (11am – 5 pm) and Mondays from 2.30pm to 5 pm throughout the Summer and all Bank Holidays.
