Finchingfield Antiques

Finchingfield Antiques

Finchingfield is acknowledged as one of the prettiest and most photographed villages in Essex, in fact  it is described by some as “one of the prettiest villages in Britain” . It boasts a long and illustrious history as well as fine period properties, including  chocolate box thatched houses, an Essex Windmill, a fine Church situated on the hill,  museum and the quintessential village duck pond,  More latterly  It is also now the home of one of the Worlds best known Chefs vis a vis Jamie Oliver who lives on the outskirts of such in a well known  former medieval stately home.

“Finchingfield Antiques” (which Antiques Dealer Graham Hessell, proprietor of  Bumpstead Antiques & Interiors  took over at the latter end of 2019 following retirement of its former Owners,  is idyllically situated overlooking the village Green and Pond. It is   sandwiched between the renowned “Fox Public House” and “Winners Tea Rooms” – the best of all worlds…!   It is housed in a period, Grade 11 listed building,    formerly a workers Cottage, retail shop and then  a renowned Restaurant  before becoming an Antiques Centre some 25+ years ago.  Although looking small from the outside Finchingfield Antiques  extends backwards, and has numerous rooms dedicated to fine furniture and collectables all beautifully set out many in room settings and is, in effect like a tardis once you enter through its double glass doors. Known for its quality Antique furniture and Clocks,   described by some as “ a real Antique shop”,  it also has an eclectic display of quality Collectables, Glass, Porcelain, Lighting, Jewellery, objet d’vertu, militaria  and indeed  all manner of other antique and later related items and goodies – “a real Alladin’s cave”  as another recently enthralled visitor described it.

Finchingfield Antiques is also renowned for its Clock Repair Workshop which is managed and fronted by a long established, fully qualified Clock Repairer who also just happens to be a Fellow of the Horological  Society too. Effectively he lives and breathes antique clocks!!

Needless to say Finchingfield Antiques is always worthy of a visit if you are looking for that something special and compliments Bumpstead Antiques & Interiors wonderfully with a warm welcome guaranteed.
